Hello, my name is Ryan McCann. This will be my second year working for Jim and BLI, and I am ready for year two! This coming fall, I will be in my sophomore year at Emory University in Atlanta, and my major is Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. I begin research studying Alzheimer's Disease this coming fall.
During high school, I was a member of the Science Olympiad team. Jim was the team advisor, and I spent much of my time at school in his classroom. You are all lucky to be able to work with him this summer. I took a class in biotechnology at Sharon High School, where Jim works, and hope that my knowledge will help all of you find a passion for synthetic biology. I love to follow the MLB, and am interested in almost all things baseball.
I hope that this summer is an enjoyable experience, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with everyone!
